Welcome

August 2011

Dear Parents and Students,

Welcome to our classroom community! I'm so happy to have each child in my class and I am looking forward to a year filled with excitement and energy! I want to briefly give you an overview of the policies in the classroom.

Reading - Please have your child read aloud or silent every night.

Daily Folders – Each day your child will bring home a folder with work. Take the papers out, review them with your child, sign any stamped papers and send them back in the folder.

Communication – Please write or attach any notes to me in your child’s folder.I will check it daily.  You may also email me at Jennifer.kellam@cobbk12.org.

Please let me know of any questions/concerns that may arise! I am here to do everything I can to help each child be successful in First Grade! Thank you!

Homework Packet

Dear Parents,

I sent home the homework packet for September on Monday, August 29.  There is a calendar attached to help guide your child's progress.  Please try to stick to the calendar and not do the entire packet in one week.  The work is intended to be daily practice and I will not collect it until the last day of the month.  If your child is doing the homework daily and studying the sight words, he or she should be showing good progress in class.  Thank you for your help with this.
