What are we learning?
In this section of the Newsletter, I will list some Essential Questions that your child should be able to answer by the end of the week. This can help you to ask specific questions so that your child can tell you what he/she is learning in school!
Language Arts/Reading

- How can I use letter sound knowledge and spelling patterns to decode? (diphthongs: oi, oy)
Writing

Math

- How can I show, identify, and compare fractions?
Social Studies
- How can I describe the contributions of Martin Luther King, Jr.?
Science
- How do the Earth, Sun, moon, and stars relate to each other?
Spelling Words
Our spelling words are five high frequency words and five words that fit the spelling rule we are studying in our Words Their Way. Study the words all week, and be ready for a test on Friday!

Cold Weather
Please be sure that your child wears a coat/jacket to school when the weather is cold, and that it is labeled with your child’s name. We try to go outside every day (unless it is TOO cold)!
First in Math
Our class has moved up into 9th place for First in Math at Bells Ferry. Keep earning those stickers and let’s aim for the top 5!
