Homework

Homework for this week is:  1) Read; 2) Play First in Math.  Our May celebrations are in progress, and if you haven’t achieved the goals for each celebration you will not be able to participate!

 

Spelling Words

There is no new spelling list again this week.  Study the high frequency words that were sent home last week.  On Friday, I will dictate a sentence, and students must spell each of the words in that sentence correctly. 

 

End of the Year

I can’t believe it!  The end of the year is very close.  We have so much to get done before the last day of school.  Please be sure to have your child at school on time each day so that we will have time to fit everything in!

Picture Money

Picture money was due on April 27^th.  We still have several people who have not returned the picture money or the picture envelope.  Please return money or pictures as soon as possible as report cards will be held at the end of the year if they are not accounted for.

AR Books

(I am leaving this in the newsletter again this week, because we are still having 4-5 students who are forgetting their AR books each day!!!)

 

We are getting ready for 3^rd Grade!  ALL students in our class are reading and taking AR tests on Chapter books at this point in the year.  It is very important for every student to remember to bring their chapter book home each night to read, and to bring it back to school each day.  I am conferencing daily with students during Reading, and it is very difficult when books are left at home.  Please help your child to remember to bring his/her chapter book every day!

Report Cards came home last Wednesday.  Please be sure to return the signature card and envelope if you have not already returned it. 

 

 

Registration Forms

Be sure to sign and return the registration forms that came home today!  Please place 3 stamps on the front of the manila envelope and return that to school as well, so we can mail out report cards at the end of the year!

 

 

Field Day T-shirts

If you would like to order t-shirts for Field Day, please fill out the order form and return it with your payment in the white envelope.  All orders and money must be in by April 18^th!

Book Fair

We are having a Spring Book Fair Tuesday, February 28^th-Friday, March 2^nd.  We will go as a class to preview the Book Fair on Wednesday, February 29^th.  Students who bring money for the Book Fair may go on an individual basis after that day.

 

Read Across America

Our school is participating in Read Across America during the week of February 27-March 2^nd.  We will dress up to celebrate:

Tuesday – Wear green in honor of Green Eggs and Ham

Wednesday – Wear your clothes backwards, two different shoes, etc. in honor of Wacky Wednesday

Thursday – Wear crazy socks in honor of Fox n’ Socks

Friday – Wear a costume for Cat and the Hat or another Dr. Seuss character.  (If you attend Bingo for Books night in costume you could possibly receive a prize!)
