Dear Parents,
Welcome to the 2011-2012 school year! We have a lot of learning and fun planned for second grade. We are off to a super start!! The following is information to help us get off to a great year.
The children may bring a healthy snack every day. Suggestions are pretzels, carrots, fruit snacks, etc. ) There is a student in the class with peanut allergies so please do not send your child with anything that has peanuts or peanuts. The children may also bring a water bottle. (Only water, please.)
Students may arrive at school beginning at 7:15. School promptly begins at 7:50. Please send in a note if you need to change the way your child is going home. I will only be able to make changes if there is a note.
Our lunch schedule is from 11:50-12:20. The cost of the lunch is $1.60 a day or $8.00 a week.
The Specialists’ classes will be from 10:45- 11:30 daily as follows:
Monday- The class splits for Art and Music
Tuesday- P.E.
Wednesday- The class splits for Art and Music
Thursday- P.E.
Friday- Rotates
Please have your child wear tennis shoes on the days they have PE.
Behavior sheets have been placed in the take-home folder. Please check it daily and sign on Fridays. A reading log is also in the folder. Please have your child read and record at least 20 minutes each day. (Thirty minutes a day is the best!!!) This is part of their homework. Other homework will be sent home in the folder. If your child has more than one homework sheet in their folder, that means they also have challenge homework. They can choose which one they would like to do or both! I will also give the opportunity to have geography challenge. It is due on Friday, if your child chooses to complete the activity. Please check the folders daily for homework and correspondence. Also, please have students return the folder daily with homework and any notes for me enclosed.
