I am very excited about the beginning of this new school year and having the privelege of sharing valuable time, with your children, in my 2nd grade class. I want to give you a little bit of information about myself so you have a better understanding of who I am....
Cobb Schools I've attended
I've lived in Georgia since 1967, much of that time in Cobb County. Schools I've attended in Cobb Country are: Norton Park Elementary, King Springs Elementary, Nash Middle School, Campbell High School, Chattahoochee Institute and Kennesaw College.
Education
From Chattahoochee Institute I achieved: Junior Accountant Certificate and Data Processing Diploma. From KSU: Business Degree and Early Childhood Education Degree. My Master of Education degree is from Indiana Westlyn University. In 2007 I took the necessary classes from Cobb County and became an ESOL certified teacher.
Career Path
For 17 years I was in the business world as: programmer, regional computer manager, executive secretary, legal secretary. After my daughter was born, my outlook on life changed, and I became interested in helping students become successful adults . In order to do this, I went back to college and took the classes necessary to become a teacher. I've taught 10 years: 9 years in Cobb; 8 years at Bells Ferry. This will be my 5th year teaching second grade. I love teaching the best!
Family
I am currently living in Cherokee County with my mother, my daughter (Hannah) and my dog (Gabby). My mother is a retired teacher from Cobb County --- she taught 5th and 6th grade at King Springs Elementary. This year Hannah is a senior in high school, and learning to drive. Gabby is a 9 1/2 year old schnoodle (half schnauzer and half poodle). We adopted him from a rescue organization 7 years ago. Over the summer break we relaxed and fished from our dock.
