Welcome to my homework page. A homework packet and my newsletter will be sent home on Monday of every week except for the first and last weeks of school. This packet will contain homework for Monday - Thursday nights. Students should also practice their study skills on the weekend and holidays!
The math and language arts written homework is specific to what we are learning that week, or provides practice for what we've learned in previous weeks. The reading homework allows students to practice their reading comprehension skills, which will be assessed each 9 weeks for their report card. It is important that students do their homework every night.
There are two parts to nightly homework. The study part is:
- Read for 20 minutes and write book name in take home folder (an adult should initial this every night)
- practice math facts flash cards for 5 minutes (timed test will be EVERY Friday)
- read the phonics words for this week outloud to an adult twice (a combination of this 9 weeks words will be read for a report card grade)
The written part is:
Monday -- math sheet and reading story / question sheets
Tuesday -- math sheet and language arts sheet
Wednesday -- math sheet and reading story / question sheets
Thursday -- math sheet and language arts sheet
