AR: 1ST 9 WEEKS

NOTE:  By the end of this first 9 weeks you should have accumulated 10 AR points, and be an Independant Reader.  Each picture book is worth 1/2 point (.5). This means you must make an 80% or better on the AR test for 20 picture books that are at the level of 1.2 or higher.  When you achieve the Independent Reader status, you can be on Bandit News on Friday.

AR: 2ND 9 WEEKS

NOTE:  By continuing to score 80% or better on your AR tests, you should move through at least one level of Rising Reader during this 9 weeks. 

There are three levels of Rising Reader:  bronze, silver and gold.  To move from one level to the next, you must accumulate 10 points on books that are 1.6 or higher.  After achieving the gold level you will be working for "Super Reader".

AR: 3RD 9 WEEKS

NOTE:  In order to become a Super Reader, you must score 80% on the AR tests for  3 books at level 2.0 or higher.  Each book must be worth 1 point.  There are three levels of Super Reader: bronze, silver and gold.  After moving through all three levels, you will be working for the "Advanced Reader" level.

AR: 4TH 9 WEEKS

NOTE:  In order to become an Advanced Reader, you must score 80% or higher on 3 books that are at level 3.0 or higher, and are worth 2 points or more per book.  There are three levels of Advanced Reader:  bronze, silver and gold.  After achieving the gold level, you will be working towards becoming a Star Reader.
