Wednesday 11/16/11
We were unable to return to the trailers after lunch today due to the weather. Please accept my deepest apologies if this is an inconvenience to you in any way. However, the safety of children is our primary concern here at Bells Ferry, and it was decided that going to the trailer with the weather conditions as they were was not a good choice. Therefore, when your child arrives home with no backpack, it is safe and sound in our classroom trailer. Regarding homework, there is no formal homework. However, I have asked that they work on First in Math or Skills Tutor on your home computers. Reading is also a wonderful option.
Thursday 11/10/11
Thanksgiving lunches for K, 3rd, and 5th are on Wednesday, Nov. 16th. Wender class lunchtime: 12:20-12:50. We will NOT be eating in the cafeteria on Tuesday, Nov. 15th. We will have sack lunches in our classroom. If you like to eat lunch with your child at school, Tuesday is not a good day to do it. It would be wonderful to have a visit on that Wednesday or any other day.
Wednesday 10/5
I need to apologize for the hectic nature of our week this week. I was out Monday and Tuesday with a sick child. Ms. Sykes was out Monday with a sick child also. Monday was supposed to be our day to go to the media center, but we missed it. There have been many things out of the regular routine. That's hard on the students and hard on me when the routine is disturbed. I will make whatever concessions necessary to make sure students are successful this week, in spite of the fact that I had to be out for 2 days. No worries.
Monday 8/29
There will be a menu change this week on Wednesday and Thursday.
Friday 8/26
Great first 2 weeks! Next week brings Reading Logs and Spelling!
Wednesday 8/17
The year has started off wonderfully! This is a lovely class of kids and I'm enjoying getting to know them. Some are so thoughtful. Some are so conscientious and thorough. Some are so earnest. All full of exciting potential. We have had a great 3 days. Look for a parent newsletter in our Friday Folder, which comes home this Friday and should be returned, with the behavior card signed, on Monday. Also, we have a student teacher who started with us today. Her name is Elizabeth Sykes. I'm looking forward to a lively and fruitful year!
